Has anyone used the Exchange 5.5 message journaling feature? I am required to enable it on my server and I am very concerned about the processing load that it will cause on the server. Currently the server has a 330 mailboxes and a 27 gig private information store. Does message journaling take up disk space as well?

I have not used journaling, but I am looking to. Everythinig I have read and heard, journaling taked HUGE amounts of space. All emails are copied to where you will hold them. Your 27gig priv does not keep the many deleted items that are removed. The journaling keeps these. Spam, junk, personal messages, EVERYTHING.
I have not found a caculation to figure how much space is required, but I am sure it is a lot.
Processor I heard through knowledge base articles is probably around 10-20% additional, depending on usage.
Look at Q239427 and other KB articles.
