We currently have 3 sites in our 5.5 organisation all linked by HI-Speed Networking.
One of the sites has been scrapped now and we wish to move its mailboxes to either of the two that remain.
However as the 5.5 site/server is no longer available, Hardware fault! we cannot manipulate the current mailboxes from Exchange Admin.

We would be happy to delete OR move these mailboxes from the crashed site in Exchane Admin. Does a utility exist that would allow us to do this? Please don't tell me we have to replicate this old server. We are not bothered about the old mailbox data.

Thanks in Advance.

OS (NT4 SP 6)
MAIL (EXCHANGE 5.5)
HW (COMPAQ PROLIANT)

If site is no longer required and down now and you dont require any mailbox from that server or site

Then remove the directory replication connector. Delete the connector which u were using to connect that site and run the DS/IS consistancy adjuster ,check both public and private information store and select the all consistancy option.

it will take 7 days to remove all the entries from present servers and sites

Thanks lakhera for taking the time to reply.

I actually found a document regarding something similar on the web. It's amazing how little information exists regarding this. Or am I looking in the wrong place?

One thing that worries me. Is it really going to take seven days for the information about the ditched site's users to disappear from the current site? This would be a problem as the site we are wanting to ditch contains usersnames, SMTP addresses etc of users that we now want to create in new site.

That would mean we could not do this for 7 days as no duplicates are allowed within the same organisation.
