I want to block junk mail coming to our office. I would like to do this at the server end instead of the workstation end. I understand there is no way to block junk mail on Exchange Server 5.5 without using 3rd party software. Can anyone confirm this? If so, what is a good 3rd party software for this task?

You can block domains and individual emails in Exchange 5.5.

Go into the IMS (Internet Mail Service) and select Connections, Message Filtering. There you can put in Domains or Emails for the Exchange Server to block.

You will have to restart the IMS service after.

Check GFI's site. They have something called 'Mail Essentials' that I think has some good anti-spam features. And they allow a full-featured 30-day trial.
