Exchange 2k3 looses DNS? 1

it appears that our Exchange 2k3 server is unable to connect, ping and or IE surf to the outside world. This standalone Win2k3 server has been running Exchange 2k3 for the past year now and all had been working fine.

Strange thing is that I see no errors in the Event logs.

Everyone one else on our network, including the DC can connect to the Internet.

I'm unable to ping

as well.

Please help if you can.

By chance you dont have a hard deny rule set in your FW for the Exchange server?

Can your exchange server receive and send email?

Have you checked your default route on the exchange server itself?

woot! That was it, Tek. Although I did NOT do any changes to my Checkpoint FW it appears that it was blocking the SMTP. A simple reboot of the FW device got things going again.
