Hi,
I have Exchange 2007 installed in a Windows 2003 domain. I want to upgrade it to Exchange 2007 SP1. The first part of the process is to run "setup /PrepareSchema" which I did successfully. I am now attempting to run "setup /PrepareAD". This fails with the following error.
...
Configuring Microsoft Exchange Server
Organization Preparation ......................... FAILED
The well-known object entry with GUID 3d604b35-d992-4155-aafd-8c0ae688ea0f on the otherWellKnownObjects attribute on the container object CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=domain,DC=com refers to a non-USG CN=Exchange Organization Administrators,OU=Microsoft Exchange Security Groups,DC=domain,DC=com. Please either delete the well-known object entry or promote the target object to a universal security group.
This GUID does not exist in the domain. LDP has a different GUID for the Orgainisatuion Admin group. It's also a universal security group. I'm struggling to work out how to delete someting that doesn't exist.
Has anyone come across this before? I successfully upgraded the test domain to Exchange 2007 SP1 before attempting it in prod.
Thanks.
