Hi everyone,
My exchange server crashed and now the services will not start, so i am stuck and don't really know what to do. Can i install exchange on another server then move mail boxes over, but i don't think i can, don't the services have to be running on the orignal server in order to do this?? Could i do a system restore to put the server back into original status, if so how??

Exchange 2003 is installed on a windows 2003 server and it is the PDC. Also has every ones home areas on it.

Still learning and understanding about this sort of stuff, so any help would be very much appreciated.
New to this.

Regards
James.

what errors are you getting when you try to start the services manually?

Things like this happen. Do you have enough space on the drive. Did you check the bad mail folder. Is IIS ok?

You can bring up a recovery server and then use your backups to restore the information store.

Check the event logs.

Solve the problem first - check event logs. Usually something minor.
