Exchange 2003 Entourage 2004

Does anyone know if there is improved user satisfaction with Entourage 2004 when used with an Exchange 2003 server rather than the Exchange 2000 version?

I am considering an upgrade since Exchange2003 was written with DAV and MAPI over HTTP as the desired delivery method for getting informaiton to the client.

Any words are helpful

Did you get anywhere on this? We use Exchange 2003 and Entourage 2004. It works pretty well, except for a few problem users. It does use WebDav to get email. I wish MS would come out with a true Exchange client for Mac. I only have problems with macs when it comes to email. All our PCs are fine. Pretty often we have to nuke the exchange account in Entourage and allow it to download all the mail again. That's a big pita. Rebuilding the database rarely cures any problems we see.

FYI: Here is an issue I ran into with the Entourage client and the transaction logs in Exchange 2003. You won't see this issue if you have circular logging enabled.

If an entourage client sends an email larger that the Delivery Restrictions set on the Defaults tab of the Message Delivery Properties in Exchange, the message will get stuck in the Entourage Out box causing an abnormal amount of transactions being written to the exchange logs. Our disk size for transaction logs is 15GB which would fill up in 6 hours.

There is a hot fix from Microsoft and a workaround.
The workaround is to go to the Mac client and delete the message from the outbox in Entourage.
