I am unable to get Exchange to automatically generate mailboxes. When I migrated them from exchange 5.5 it created the mailboxes and the useres. Now when I create new useres, I do not get the mailboxes generated.

Please help.

I assume that you mean that you are not prompted to create a mailbox. If so remember that you must havethe Exchange System Manager installed on the client that you are using. It installs by dewfaut on the Exchange server. You can install it from theExchange CD on other boxes.

Actually, it prompts to create the mailbox. but after creation of the user, the mailbox is not actually created. Go into exchange, no mail box. Go to the exchange tab for email addresses and neither the SMTP or the x400 addresses are configured.

In Exchange 2003 this has changed a bit. You will actually need to send an email to that new mailbox in order to see that mailbox in the System Manager. It does, however, take a couple of minutes until you see the mailbox, but eventually you will see it after you've sent a message to this user/mailbox.

If the Email address are not being created that usually means that the RUS is not working. Can you force a RUS update to occur? If that works then you need to determine why the RUS is not running. It shouldstamp the new mailboxes within a few minutes.

I ended up callin MS. Seems to be a bug, where you have to run Forest Prep and Domain Prep again, reboot the server. After that, it starts stamping the users again.
