All,

Can anyone help with this one?
We have a backup server running Backup Exec 9.1 (sp2) during the inital install we added a serial number from a Exec 7 Exchange Agent. 9.1 took the number and reports that the Exchange Agent has been installed.
We've created a mailbox and given rights to the user in the Storage Groups etc (as per all the Veritas support notes).
When browsing the network the Exchange box shows the Mail boxes and the public folders, both can be selected and the backup works ok.
However, no Information Store is shown in the selection list!!
As we can't perform a IS backup (cause we can't select it!) we aren't deleting our logs and securing a DR based database backup only block level mailboxes etc.
Any suggestions? Does it sound like the Exchange Agent has been installed ok? And is there any way of checking?
The only thing that we can think of is the serial number (coming from a very old version of Exec) is invalid?

Your help would be much appricated!

When you goto help/about backup exec - license information.
Doese the exchange Agent report Agent for Exchange or Agent for Exchange 2000
If if doesnt say Exchange 2000 then you have the wrong license. The It has to say Exchange 2000 in order to backup 2003/2000/5.5. If it just says agent for exchange then that is only good for exchange 5.5

Steve OT,

Many Thanks... exactly spot on!!!
