I have OWA with HTTPS working fine with a public address. I want to change the address to a easy name my users can type in. I want them to be able to type "mail.yoursite.com" into there web browser to access OWA.

What do I need to do DNS wise to make this happen?

mail.yoursite.com IN A 11.22.33.44

yes, they currently type in a public address, such as 11.22.33.44, but I want them to type..., mail.yoursite.com to access the OWA.

What do I need to change or setup for that?

I've already told you. Map a hostname to the IP address in DNS and then they can use that hostname.

This is what you need in the zone file;

mail.yoursite.com IN A 11.22.33.44

So they would then be able to type in mail.yoursite.com instead of 11.22.33.44.

i'm really new to DNS, what are the steps to do this

Do they connect to the public IP address? Who hosts the DNS for your domain?

If your ISP hosts the domain then just ask them to point an A record.

My ISP just gives us internet access. The email and websites are done by a diff company. I have are registered domain names pointing at there name servers. Do I just call the guys that do are email and tell them to make a A record to my public ip to mail.yoursite.com ?

There is NOTHING you can do short of contacting whoever is doing you e-mail and website and making that same statement.
Unless you can walk up to the dns server and make the changes yourself, you can't do it. Give them a call. Goodluck.
