This is my first Exhange 2000 installation. I installed
Windows 2K Advanced Server with SP2 and did the DCPROMO.
I installed Exchange 2000 and added its SP2 fixes. When I open ISM and expand the Default WEB site I see three entries with a red circle and the text ERROR in them. The three are for the PUBLIB, EXCHANGE, an EXADMIN virtual directories. The local path indicates the M drive followed by the domain name, etc. The Event logs have an entry for each as follows:
The server was unable to add the virtual root '/Exchange' for the directory 'M:\mycompany.abc.nj.us\MBX' due to the following error: The system cannot find the path specified. The data is the error code.
The server was unable to add the virtual root '/Exadmin' for the directory '\\.\BackOfficeStorage' due to the following error: The system cannot find the path specified.
The server was unable to add the virtual root '/public' for the directory 'M:\mycompany.abc.nj.us\Public Folders' due to the following error: The system cannot find the path specified.
I checked the M: drive and the paths do exist (except for BACKOFFICESTORAGE). Of course there is much more to say... This is a standalone test system at present. Exchange will be running OWA only.
I think the key is access to the M drive or the definition of the virtual roots for Exchange. Would someone point me to some good dcoumentation? I have purchased an Exchnage Implementation manual but I have not come across the answer to my problem(s).
Thanks
