Hi I have a remote location that is attached to my domain via a VPN connection... I can contact the exchange server (Ping, Telnet 110, Telnet 25) I can get my mail but cannot send.. I get a relaying denied message... I checked the settings on my SMTP Virtual server... Added the remote network address and even the public IP ... Still relay denied.... Any suggestions??

Thanks,

Rory

Well... The boxes on the other side of the VPN were resolving the server name to the public IP. This is why they couldnt add the Exchange mailboxes... I created a host file on each box for a quick fix. As for the realying issue. I am embaressed to say that it was something silly that I over looked. I had installed Symantic Anti Spam on the Exchange Server.. They only have one server so it had to go on there. This required me to change the SMTP port that exchange runs on.. I was getting the relay error because it were sending through the Symantec Gateway and I was not allowing relay for the remote network. I changed the setting in Outlook (SMTP Port) and Viola....
