I have heard it is not recommended to have exchange 2000 on a domain controller or even a global catalog. A situation may arise where I might have no choice but to implement this where exch2000 will no longer just be a member server, can anyone tell me there experiences or give hints/advice?

I've been uring Exchange2K on one of my ADC for 6 months. Don't see any problem so far.

But I would like to know if anyone has experienced any problem also.

Security is the only issue...

Since it is a Domain Controller you need to add Everyone Logon Locally to get OWA to work. Just the first thing I can think of.

Small Business Server runs in this configuration. Dan

Im afraid I'm not sure what you mean about the everyone logon?

Logon Locally is a permission.

I have been running this for several years. It was Exchange 5.5 on NT4.0 as the PDC and then it was upgraded to W2k and then about 2 months later Exchange was upgraded to 2000.

Just make sure you do all that Microsoft says to do to secure the web server as much as you can. Do not allow anonymous logins to the webserver. Make sure that if you are going to use OWA that you make everyone authenticate with the server in order to retrieve their mail.
