I have clients that use Oulook 2003 configured with SMTP/POP. If they go into OWA and send mail or delete mail, those two folders don't sync with their outlook client. Only items in the inbox get pulled down. How can I get every folder in OWA to puts push its contents down to the client outlook 2003?

What is happening is they are doing some work via OWA and then when they get to their system, they really don't have an accurate picture of what e-mails have been sent, deleted, etc...

Thanks,

KevinS

Strange.

OWA is a direct view of their XC2003 mailbox so any changes they make there update their mailbox in real time.

We have noticed quite a few problems with OL2003 cache mode not sending or receiving mail properly. It'll send but not receive or vice versa. Some folders will work properly while others won't.

No real pattern unfortunately. Applying Office 2003 SP1 did seem to help a bit but there are still odd problems.

Usually deleting the OST and letting it recreate or setting up a new OL profile will at least fix things for a while.

Users working in online or offline mode don't have any problems.

The outlook clients that are configured to use SMTP/POP just use the server to pull their mail down to and send out. Their mail resides in the .PST file local on their sytem.

The outlook client that use Exchange are set up directly with the server and all of that stuff syncronizes correctly.

This issue is just with off site peopel that use POP/SMTP.

Thanks,

KevinS

POP3 doesn't support any folders other than the inbox. You would have to reconfigure the clients to use the IMAP4 protocol to be able to see additional folders on the exchange server, or configure for a full MAPI connection.

Simple steps: set up only SMTP protocol on Exchange, disable POP protocol for a short time, test with one client and webaccess as well. (make sure that you have profile of the user created -->use cashed mode online/offline).
