Excell 2000 problem

Hi !

I am putting formula in G1 as =e1*f1 result is ok.
Copying same formula to G2,G3, G4 ... G15.
Now if there is no. value in corrosponding E2,E3,E4...E15 and F2,F3,F4...F15 the G2...G15 cells shows a '-'( Hyphen) in this place. I want to print all these cells and this '-' gives dirty looks. How to avoid this '-' if no value is present in E2 and F2 through E15 and F15 respectively.

My format in G1..G15 is comma style from tools bar.

Hi!

That't the comma number format. Chose another numer format, go to Format | Cells - the Number tab, and select another format (i e Number with 2 decimal places and 1000 separator)

You can get a lot of goodies thru the toolbars, but to do the real juicy stuff, you have to use the menus;-)

Another way to get rid of the empty cells yet keep the formulas intact:
highlight all cells with the formula
then select FORMAT | CONDITIONAL FORMAT on the tool bar
select if cell value
is equal to
0
then click format
select color and change font to white or whatever the background color for the cell is and this will hide the "-"
