Excel Rows/Columns Both Numbers-FIX?

I was given a spreadsheet and both the rows and columns are numbered, rather than the rows being number and columns ABC. Of course this makes using functions somewhat dicey. How can I change it back to the standard? Read the help file and can't find anything, and the spreadsheet owner doesn't know how it got that way.

Very common, d. And just what WOULD you put in that help file search or any other? It's not that easy until you've heard it at least once a week for 4 years.
