Are there any completely free plug-ins for Excel that will dress up the charts?

Is there an alternative to Excel that maybe is a shareware program that does as good a job making charts?

Everything I Google costs an arm and a leg.

Not that I know of. What exactly do you want to do to your charts? There are a lot of sites with really good hints, depending on what you want to do.

Cheers, Glenn.

Did you hear about the literalist show-jumper? He broke his nose jumping against the clock.

We have done all the normal things. We were just looking for something new.

Thanks,

This is kind of specialized, but a couple of years ago I was producing loads of Pareto charts. I had the company buy me a copy of Pareto Pro (available for a trial download here). At just $50 it was well worth it. Their customer service was excellent, as well.
