I've ventured into using Microsoft Access table as my external data source for Excel pivot tables. However, I've run into a bit of a road block.

The Access database was moved to a different file folder. When I attempted to refresh the Excel pivot table, the error message that popped up was labelled "ODBC Microsoft Access Driver Login Failed". The error message read "Could not find 'path\filename'."

When I click OK in the error message box, a Login dialog box appears. I then proceed to relocate the database and path by selecting 'Database' which takes me to a 'Select Database' dialog box.

After re-establishing the path\filename, I click OK twice to exit dialog box and go back to the pivot table. I then proceed to refresh the Excel pivot table. The dialog box that pops up says "[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] coud not find 'path\filename'."

What does this message mean? Let me know if I've missed something. Also, let me know if this message should have been posted in the Microsoft Access forum.

Seems like your ODBC connection is still referencing the old location.
Try resetting your ODBC driver. go to the
Start menu-->
Settings-->
Control panel-->
Administrative Tools
and double-click on the Data Sources (ODBC)icon. Find the ODBC connection (Should be on the System Tab) and click configure. Click on the Select button and select the database that has been moved to the new location.Click OK and exit the ODBC application.

Exit Excel and reopen before tyring to refresh again.

Hope that helps,
Sam
