Hello,

It's about a shared workbook where 5 persons have acces.

Every person should work in a certain sheet, however sometimes they add data in other's sheet and this misguides the whole team.

So, i would like for every person to have acces only to his sheet. John should be the only one that could modify the sheet "John", Sandra could bring modifications only to the sheet "Sandra" etc...

Can anyone help me out with this one?

Thanks

Hello clayton, thanks for your answer.

The problem is that i'm tied up to Ms Excel 2000 and i don't have the option "allow user to edit ranges".

However i've saw there that in excel 2000 you can rahter set permissions for users, now this will interest me alot. I can set permission for a user to just change some cells in a sheet?

I'm already using the protect sheet method but it's less effective.

Any ideeas on how to set permission / user?

In VBA you can use an Event to trigger some code when the workbook opens. This could get a username etc from the environment and trigger code to protect or hide particular sheets. I think if you search the VBA forum you will find some code snippets.

I presume there is a reason why you don't just give them each a separate workbook and then have a consolidation book that could, for example, open the other books and copy the relevant sheets into itself.
