excel not freezing panes

I am having a problem with excel not freezing panes on excel spreadsheets. I have rebooted the computer and still the problem persists. The changes that are made to the spreadsheet are saved but it will not freeze the panes.
Any ideas?

Can you describe the actions you are taking to try and freeze the panes? I.e. what cell(s) are you selecting when trying to freeze the panes. Also what version of excel are you using?

I can tell you for sure the version is 9.0.08924. If I remember correctly, for this is another user's computer, they are selecting the freeze option from the tools option on the tool bar. They are selecting diffrent panes no specific ones. Does this help?

Thanks,I loaded an update from MS on this computer and had the user restart. Problem solved. I should have posted it sooner today but haven't had a chance. Thanks to everyone for thier help.
