Is it possible in Excel(2000) to lockout the file with a password? Meaning to have a password prompt come up when the file opens to access and read the spreadsheet. Thanks in advance.

Hi kazalian,

When saving file using save as, click on general options

there you will be able to enter a password, there are two levels here, read only (user will not be able to save changes) or password to modify (user will be able to change entries and save them )

also look at protect options , because these will give you even more power.

With regards

Mike
