I have exported a bunch of information from an Acess Database to an Excel spreadsheet. One of the fields is 'email address.'
When this was done, as apostraphe was added ( ie. 'you@yourdomain.com) in front of the addresses, making them plain text.

Is there a way to remove the apostraphe without going through and doing it manually?

Thanks

How about selecting the column in question, choosing Edit, replace, specify By Columns in the Search: selection box, in the Find What box, put the apostrophe, in the Replace With box, leave it blank. Select Replace All.

this actually wont work b/c the apostrophe only show up in the formula bar, not in the cell itself.
thanks for the suggestion though..

Use this formula in another column. Then copy and paste special values.

=RIGHT(a1,LEN(a1))

HTH,
Eric
