We have an issue that has us stumped. We have a doc control system that has mostly Word and Excel Docs. A users creates a document and submits it to Doc control. Doc Control puts it into a shared location where everyone can access it Read-Only.
So the scenario:
Engineer1 User- Creates excel doc. Puts in the header with the document info such as Rev. 1 date etc.
Doc Control User - puts the document in the shared location...everything is cool.
Engineer2 User - Modifies origianl document to reflect updated info. Updates the header to reflect new info such as it now being Rev.2
Doc Control User - Puts the document in the shared location. Everybody sees the updated header except Engineer 1 whom still sees the original header with Rev.1.
The only way we have been able to resolve this is to copy the entire contents of the document into a new document otherwise, Engineer1 always sees the version of the header that he last saved.
Thanks in advance for your help.
