I need to take two columns, first name and last name. I need to take the first letter of the first name and take the last name, up to 8 characters.
 
Sort by date Sort by votes
If first name is in column A and last name is in column B, and assuming you want a grand total of 8 characters or less, just use this in C1:

[COLOR=blue white]=LEFT(A1,1)&LEFT(B1,7)[/color blue white]
