Hi all:

I am bringing a query into Excel via the External Data Menu and I need to subtotal some of the columns. The problem is that even though these are numerical, they are coming through as text (because the table I'm querying is using nvarchar as the column attribute).

I've tried deleting the query name and then using the Format>Cells...nothing. The only thing that seems to work is if I manually edit each cell by pressing F2 and then ENTER.

Does anyone know a way around this?

Thanks,

Ron

Multiply By 1

enter a 1 into any blank cell
copy it
Select all the "numbers" to be transformed
Edit>Paste Special - choose Values & Multiply

et voila

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colours but they all live in the same box.
