we are using office 2003 pro. On one computer double clicking on an excel file opens excel, but not the file. If he opens excel, and then does a file-open, it works fine. Word files open ok when double clicking the file. I have done a reinstall of Office, no help. Office 2003 sp2 has been installed. Any ideas?

excel files not opening

The usual culprit is Tools / Options / General / untick 'Ignore Other Applications', so personally I would try that first, but failing that, one of the options listed in the thread referenced by jdemmi should fix it.
