I have 500 rows of data with that I'm using 'paste special' to copy values only to new cells. I've created a macro using a toolbar button so that I don't have to use paste special command so many times. Is there an easier way to do this so that I'm not using the macro button 500 times?
Thanks!

Are you doing this one row at a time? What is the objective? Can you not copy all 500 rows and paste special?

Then again, doing one row at a time makes you look busy.

I have mine set to be Ctrl+z

I don't mind not having the keyboard shortcut for Undo and it allows me to use

Ctrl+c
Ctrl+z

for copy/paste special values...

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colours but they all live in the same box.

Because I was not thinking...duh! thanks so much! I just copied all the data at once but you know it did keep me occupied for awhile running the macro...hehe.

I can see it now...

For paste values, easiest way is to customize a tool bar and add the "paste values" icon.

1. Right-click on any tool bar and select "Customize..." (Or select Tools/Customize... from the menu.)

2. Select the "Commands" tab.

3. Select "Edit" in the left-hand list box

4. Scroll down to "Paste Values" in the right-hand list box.

5. Click "Paste Values" and drag it to a tool bar.

6. Close the customize dialog.

Now you can use ctrl-C to copy and then click the tool bar button to paste/special/values.

This is probably the most-used button on my toolbars.

Here you go:
1). ctrl + space bar (selects the entire column, I assume its one column?)
2). ctrl + c (copies the column)
3). Go to whatever cell you want to start the insert on and do alt E S V
