Attempting to graph multiple cells based upon source and am not certain the best way to go about it.

Based on the example below I need the chart to combine results of cells A1-C1 with A3-C3 based upon the fact data in A1 and A3 match. Currently, if I use the chart wizard it creates 3 sets of "series" data instead of the desired two. Hope this makes sense?

Cell: A1 B1 C1
Data: X 3 4

Cell: A2 B2 C2
Data D 2 3

Cell: A3 B3 C3
Data: X 4 4

hereigns,

Based on your example, what do you expect to plot? Please be specific with data points.

SkipVought,
If I understand what you're askin'...

This graph is a collection of survey data for companyA.

The "A" cells in the example would give only two different series, not three.

It would plot numerical range of 1 to 4 (min. and max. score) for "B" and "C" cells. It is basically a graph showing scores in B & C cells for matching A cell data.

A = manufacturer
B = sales rating
C = product rating

Does this make any sense at all?

I'm not understanding your requirement.

You just stated

Pleeeeeeeeeese post a SPECIFIC example of what you mean by that statement, and not a guessing game!

Skip,
Maybe this will help clarify?

When viewing the data in the spreadsheet:
A cells = Product

Cell A1 = Mitel
Cell A2 = Toshiba
Cell A3 = Mitel
Cell A4 = Toshiba

B cells = score (rating of product results from a survey)

Cell B1 = 2
Cell B2 = 4
Cell B3 = 3
Cell B4 = 2

The goal being to graph combined "average" score of the Mitel product based on scores in the B cells. In this example

B1 + B3 / 2 or
2 + 3 = 5 / 2 = 2.5

Thus the graph would show a single Mitel product with a graph indicating the score of 2.5, it would obviously do the same for the Toshiba product line.

Can you please expound on what you mean when you say...if I have not answered this question previously.

"Based on your example, what do you expect to plot? Please be specific with data points."

First, you need headings on your columns like Product and Score

Then, use the PivotTable wizard (Data/Pivot table and Pivot chart report) to SUMMARIZE you data.

In the layout of the PT Wizard, drag the Product field to the ROW AREA and the Score field to the DATA AREA - sekecting Average of for score.

If you did not select the pivot chart option, just use the chart wizard to create the chart from the pivot table.
