Excel Chart with stacked bars with a goal line 1

I want to create a chart, with stacked bars by Qtr, i.e. Presales, booked revenue on top of each other on the bar. Then have a line going accross the top with Corporate Revenue numbers by Qtr. This would give a view how close or over we are for making the numbers.

Getting the break down of the two types of revenue on a bar seems to be the problem

Hi,

So you have several series that are stacked bar and one series that you want to be a line?

Select the SERIES that you want to be a LINE, Chart/Chart Type and select the Line Type.

If necessary, you can ALSO create a Secondary Axis for the Line Type by selecting the Line Series and Format/Selected Data Series - select the Axis Tab and choose Secondary.

I'm stuck with how to select the series the has the line info, when I select it, the Chart option is not available.

Please post a sample of your source data and explain how you CURRENTLY have it plotted and how you WANT to have it plotted.

Below is the sample data:
Qtr1 Qtr2 Qtr3 Qtr4
Project Revenue $12,820 $5,967 $4,549 $3,029
Presales $1,049 $5,014 $5,138 $3,348

Corparate Goal $13,803 $13,096 $12,856 $13,819

would want Project Revenue and Presales to display on top of each other in a bar, there would be a bar for each qtr.

Then the Corparate Goal would be Line going accross the chart.

Why can't you select the Corparate Goal series?

Select the Corparate Goal series and then Chart/Chart Type. SIMPLE!

Thanks, I was selecting the raw data instead of the chart data series.
