Any ideas why my document is printing on one side of the page only? The duplex option is already checked each time I try to print but it doesn't actually duplex print.

I am selecting all the sheets and trying to print the same area on each sheet. Does duplex not work when you select all the sheets? If I put several pages of data all on one worksheet and print that it will duplex.

Thanks,
Sharon

OH wow. How many stars can I give you?
I was pulling my hair out and wasting a lot of paper thinking this was my fault. I followed the steps and it worked!
In fact I think it's so great I am going to paste that document into this message in case the link ever breaks. I had a document that was duplexing and then it stopped so this procedure may have to be followed every so often.

One of my workbooks I was able to choose print entire workbook. But from the other one I only wanted 5 sheets. This still worked. In my print macro I had it set up to select the areas I wanted to print and then in the print dialog box I selected "Selection" for Print What.

Thanks again!!
Sharon

Here's the doc:
Thanks for the suggestions. I ended up getting the following
information and suggestion from the vendor (Canon). Since
it appears to be a Microsoft problem, I thought I'd pass it
along:

Title: Problems Printing with Finishing Options from a
Multiple Worksheet Microsoft Excel Job

Problem: When you print a job from Microsoft Excel with
multiple worksheets and select finishing options in
the driver (ex. duplex, hole punch, staple, etc.) the
job does not print correctly with the finishing options
selected.

Solution: This is an application specific problem with Excel 97 and
Excel 2000. Excel sends each worksheet as an individual
job, therefore the finishing options we select in the driver
only take effect on the first worksheet that prints. There is
a variation of the setup necessary between printing with a
PCL or PostScript driver in order to get the correct
results. The following instructions apply to Windows
95/98, Windows NT 4.0, and Windows 2000/XP.

When printing with the PostScript driver you will need to:
1. Set the PS driver as the default printer.
2. Open up your Excel document.
3. Highlight all the worksheets of your job.
4. Go to File - Page Setup - Select the Sheet tab - and
select the Options button, this will bring up the print driver.
5. In the driver select all your finishing options and select OK.
6. Select Print from Page Setup screen. This brings up the Printing dialog box.
7. Select 'Active Sheets' under 'Print What'.
8. Select OK.

When printing with the PCL driver you will need to:
1. Set the PCL driver as the default printer.
2. Open up your Excel document.
3. You will need to select each worksheet individually
and separately complete steps 4, 5, 6 as described
above for each worksheet.
4. When you have completed these steps for each
worksheet individually, Select File - Print
5. Select 'Entire Workbook' under 'Print What'
6. Select OK.

If these steps are completed as described your document
should print out correctly with all the finishing options selected.

*This issue is not specific to Canon printers. It is a Microsoft Excel issue
that occurs with printer from various manufacturers. This problem is
documented on Microsoft's website in document Q169033 entitled
"XL: Only First Worksheet Printed Duplex."

We have a spreadsheet from a vendor that we then
modified for our purposes. Each page is on a seperate
worksheet in one workbook. We want to print the whole
workbook double-sided, but it will only print
single-sided, as if it were (in effect) printing
a seperate file for each page in each worksheet. Is
there any way to print the workbook and have it print
double-sided?
