Excel calc problem 1

I am having a problem with a spreadsheet calc that refuses to work can anyone tell me if my formula is correct.

=IF(D6<N7,M7,M8)

If D6 is less than N7 (4) then M7 (Yes) or M8 (No).

Nothing wrong with the SYNTAX of the formula

what result are you getting and what should you get ??

Are the 2 values very close ??

What is the result you get? I am assuming that the formula is not in one of the cells in the formula.

D5 is 7 and D6 is 2 and they both display NO i want D6 to show a YES.

enter these 2 formulae into other cells
=ISTEXT(D5)
=ISTEXT(D6)

what results do they give ??

what is the formula in the 2 cells ??
In the 2nd one (for D6) are you referencing N7 ??

Sorry the col is (I) don't know why i said D

=IF(I6>N7,M7,M8) is the formula in K6 where i want
the YES or NO to appear.

If the formula is in K6 why not just have
=IF(I6>N7,"YES","NO")

Well thanks for you help guys but out of desperation i tried it on another PC and it works, calculations just seem to of stopped working on that PC.

Mad.

Tools>Options>Calculation - if set to manual, change back to automatic
