Excel Bar Charts

Can I combine a grouped and stacked bar/column chart? If so, how?

Can't mix Bar & Column.

Where is the category axis in each case???

Let me restate. Can I combine grouped and stacked bar chart? If I select a subtype of grouped, I can't stack variable and If I select subtype stacked, I can't group like variables?

It would help to see an example of source data for each type.

Here is some simple sample data that will hopefully demonstrate what I would like to bar chart

Group of first bars = Project 1
Bar 1 = Inital Planned Funds (10K)
Bar 2 = Expended Funds(6K) stacked with Current planned funds remaining (5K)

Group of second bars = Project 2
Bar 1 = Inital Planned Funds (15K)
Bar 2 = Expended Funds(10K) stacked with Current planned funds remaining (3K)

and so on....

Sorry, I put numbers in for each project and tried to explain how I would like the bars to look. This is how I have the data in the spreadsheet (is this the source data?)

A B C D
1 10 6 5
2 15 10 3
3 12 12 3

Change the chart type to stacked bar

remove series A

assign Category axis is the Column A data range
