Hi.

I have a column called "File Name" (1st column) in my spreadsheet and I would like to automatically group rows when the text string matches in the cells of this column.

Thanks in advanced.

Dan

Use built in functionality to do the job if possible - this is almost certain to be quicker than any programming loop.

Try creating subtotals: Data,Subtotals...
Put recorder on and you should just about have the code

If this isn't quite what you want, it may at least give you a starting point to fine-tune with further code to edit the results.

You could for example:
* create a (blank except for the heading) column to subtotal and then delete the column.
* Edit, replace to remove " Total" and replace with ""

Thanks,

Gavin
