I have an array formula that is exactly the same as another array formula in a spreadsheet but whereas one works and returns a proper result the other doesn't.
I can't begin to think where the problem lies as the formulae are exactly the same.
Thanks for any help
Chris

You will ghet a #VALUE error if any of the cells you are evaluating contains a #VALUE error Rgds

Thanks Geoff but I'm afraid that this is not the solution this time - all the source data is good. Besides the formula is exactly the same as one that returns a proper value. Just writing this has made me think of the obvious - I'll just refer to the formula in the adjacent worksheet - I'm an idiot! There must be a glitch in Excel though for this to be happening.
Thanks again
Chris

I reckon this is the cause:
What does the error #VALUE! mean?

The #VALUE! error value occurs when the wrong type of argument or operand is used, or if the Formula AutoCorrect feature cannot correct the formula.

Possible cause;Suggested action
Entering or editing an array formula, and then pressing ENTER. Select the cell or range of cells that contains the array formula, press F2 to edit the formula, and then press CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER.

Sounds like you may have copied the formula across and then pressed enter instead of CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER
try going into the formula and checking whether it has {} and pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER again Rgds
