I'm running Excel 97 from a network drive. When I run it from my main PC, if I click Tools/Options... nothing happens. That is to say, the menu goes away and I'm left looking at the workbook as if I had clicked cancel. This just started happening last week. When I run the same executable from another PC on the network the Options dialog comes up just as it should.

When I run Word 97 from my PC, I can get a Tools/Options... dialog box. The problem is only with Excel.

Any ideas? Did I zap a .dll? Do I need a Registry hack? It's obviously on my machine but I'm stuck.

Tried looking around with SysInfo, but can't see anything suspicious.

Running under Windows 98.

One more thing: Trying to set an option with VBA fails also. E.g. when I try
[blue]
Code:
  Application.ReferenceStyle = xlR1C1
[/color]

I get the dreaded Run-time error '1004': Method... failed.
