Excel 2000 v9 - how to make a macro button

I have created an easy macro basically to save user some steps. But can not assign macro to a button or even create the button. Some asssistance would be appreciated. Do I have to place it in the VB code?

Do you have VBA enabled? Tools-Macros-Security. Must be low or medium. THEN open the file. What do you mean you cannot even create the button?

Try using a textbox and fill in the color, etc. Right-click and choose Assign macro... Anne Troy

Thank you. That worked fine. But unable to create a text box. I used Word Art instead. I have posted on another thread how to create a text box.
