Hi there, a unix user (who uses Citrix to access office products) is having trouble as shown below:

What user is attempting:

When inserting extra rows and then attempting to
fill the cells I get the message:

Error Message:

Microsoft Excel can't use the AutoCorrect lists.
Microsoft Excel cannot install the necessary files due to Windows
installer error 1605. This action is only valid for products that
are currently installed.

Now, I can't find anything here that is a close enough match to this problem. I have searched Windows support which only gives me links to possible keyboard errors and also a problem with the startup templates. (Bearing in mind this error does not appear on startup but when performing the above.

Unix Box
Running Office 2K SP3 Via Citrix

Any help much appriciated, but as you can guess im limited as to what I can do as it is on the Citrix server. Other users need to use the program.

Cheers

Try to go to options/edit and turn off Enable autocomplete for cell values

Hi there,

thanks for the quick reply, however this has not solved the problem. The user already had this option unchecked anyway.

To add, The user is getting more than one instance of this error (1605) but with different exact errors i.e "fonts" on the end instead of "Auto Correct Lists"

I have opened up Word and Excel myself within Citrix and it is not affecting me, I can open and close documents in word fine (the user can open and close documents but keeps getting a variation of the above error each time and has to click "OK" twice to exit.)

For the word issue I ran winword.exe /a this initially seemed to fin the problem but when re opening word again the problem was back. The Excel problem is worse, and the one the user wants to get sorted more so, can I run the above command for Excel?

Is this more of a general word / excel problem? or the users Word / Excel template problem? Or is office on Citrix screwed? :(

Cheers

Just to add:

One of the main error logs on the server is:

Detection of product '{00000409-78E1-11D2-B60F-006097C998E7}', feature 'OfficeUserData', component '{C9AF9050-C8BE-11D1-9C67-0000F81F1B38}' failed. The resource 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Common\UserData' does not exist.

(Remember, other people are still working fine?)

Cheers
