evga e-geforce4 mx440 64MB DDR 8X AGP lock up

after i install the drivers for the video card the pc just starts to lock up when i uninstall it it works fine. what could be the problem?
my mother board is a K7SEM with a AMD 1400+ processor.
the motherboard has a SiS chipset and it has 384MB of memory.

We have had some compatibility problems with some Geforce 4 MX 440's and the ECS K7SEM
Also have you disabled the onboard graphics in device manager and set first display to addon AGP card in the bios.
Plus all the normal driver updates: DX9b, 53.03 Detonators,
SIS platfom drivers, fully updated Windows, plus any patches for the particular game you are trying to play.
Also consider a bios flash if all else fails.

dont use drivers newer then 3x.xx for the 440mx. the latest drivers are for the latest cards. i found my ti4200 didnt work very well with any drivers newer then 42.xx

try reducing your agp bus to 4x.
