Is your client pointed to a DNS server in your company or one at an ISP?

its pointed to our servers inside

Thanks

Try running nslookup queries against the DNS server to see if you can consistently resolve names. Trying pinging some sites to see if your DNS resolves names correctly.

Have you always had this problem? What kind of DNS server do you have?

i did nslookup to my both servers , i think the servers might be the problem ,because when i do nslookup it gives me 2 sec timeout and then replies and some time it wont reply , is this the problem, if it is how should i fix it
i am pining the dns servers fine no packet loss.

Please help

Thanks

Flush the DNS cache, sounds corrupt. Try from command prompt:

ipconfig /flushdns

And probably have server admin flush cache on DNS server too.

Do you have an old hosts file hidden away? If not, try putting a hosts file with the ip's of a web-site to test it, and see if that helps. Since you can ping your dns servers, don't bother putting them in the hosts file. You can also check and see if you have any error messages in the servers to see if the problem is starting there. Good luck.

Have a look at the links in:

The nslookup errors may be because you have no reverse lookup zones configured or they are not working properly. Is this a Windows 2000 DNS server?
