Event viewer won't start

I had this problem a few weeks ago, did a shutdown / chkdsk and the event viewer worked again.

Today I tried 3 times but the event viewer just hangs when it is loading.

I believe it is the security log that is causing the problem.

Is there a way to reset the event viewer ( remove any data in case it is corrupted)?

Everything else works fine.

Exchange server 5.5 keeps on ticking.

Files keep on serving....

Hi, check event viewer's files "C:\WINNT\system32\config\*.Evt" . May be some of them is corrupted.
