I posted this is dns but didn't get a response, hopefully someone here can help.

I am getting an error numerous time on my dns server.

"the dns server encountered an invalid domain name in a packet from ********** the packet is rejected"

The ip listed belongs to my isp and is listed as a forwarder for my main dns server. The server that is getting this error is the only one that has forwarders enabled under the server properties in dns management.

I did some searching and found some vague suggestions to fix the problem. One was to disable forwarders on that server.

If I do that will I still get to the internet?
Is there something else I should try?

I already knew about this, but Microsoft wants me to call them and pay for the hotfix. I am asking if anyone knows more about this or can answer my questions in the original post.

Hello everyone,

Just thought that I would clear something up. I used to work in support at Microsoft. They NEVER charge for support if a hotfix resolves your issue. Ask the support person you talk with
