All,

Here's what I'm getting
Event ID: 1221
Soure: MSExchangeIS Public
Description: "The database has 1 megabytes of free space after online defragmentation has terminated."

I checked my database sizes my PUB is 79Meg and my PRIV is like 3Gig. I'm also not getting any of these concerning the PRIV which is the bigger of the two... It seems odd to me that I'm getting these events. However, it's been a loooong time since I worked with Exchange. Any thoughts or input would be great!

Thanks,
Harvey

How long is your IS Maintenance set to run? It needs a fair chance if you're to get through your IS in a night.

zbnet - I double checked and it is set to run every night from midnight(12) to 4am. I also just now noticed that these events are happening every hour on the hour between 12 and 4.

Is this a sign that it needs more time? It can't be a size issue can it? Like I said above the databases aren't that big at all. We only have like 30 people on this server and there's over 88Gig of free space on the database drive.

Any more ideas, thoughts or advise is welcome. Thanks in advance!

I also just looked back through my logs. It looks like these events started showing up around 1/22 and originally said there was 2Meg of free space...

These events are perfectly normal, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

The space free refers to white space. The pub file will grow as it needs up to a maximum of 16Gb.

That's what I thought. But like I said it's been a while since I worked with Exchange. SO I had to ask. Thanks for the advise / info guys.
