Event ID 1085 Error

Hello,
In my Event Viewer - Source: Userenv
- User: NT Authrity\System
- Event ID: 1085
i have:
"The Group Policy client-side extension Internet Explorer Zonemapping failed to execute. Please look for any errors reported earlier by that extension"
Please advice how to fix this error.
Tryied with "gpupdate" -same error appear again..
Checked for Scecli.dll file and found it in System 32 folder
What else I can do to fix it ,please

"If the client-side extension event descriptions indicate

s there was an error loading the extension, finding a

particular entry point, or finding the correct registry

data, the extension might not be registered correctly on

the computer. In that case, re-register the appropriate

DLL files by typing regsvr32 at the command prompt. Note

that the correct DLL to register depends on the

extension. For Group Policy extensions that are included

with Windows, the following table lists which DLLs are

used by which extension.

As an Administrator type - Regsvr32 iedkcs32.dll (as an example), in the Command Prompt. Repeat for each .dll.

You could just type - Regsvr32 iedkcs32.dll in the Start Run box.

Thanks linney,
Done all – re-registered mentioned dll. Files, but problem do not disappear.
Error message in Event Viewer appear on each boot.
Besides this error I have another one:
Source: Windows Search Service
Category: Gatherer
Event ID: 3102
“The per-user filter pool for session 0 could not be added.

Details:
The operation being requested was not performed because the user has not logged on to the network. The specified service does not exist. (0x800704dd)”

Can those errors be in some way in connection with IE7 or KIS 6.

By any chance did this start just after a Windows Update. If so (if you haven't already) goto the MS site and search on the error code. The User referred to could be Windows Update itself.

Are you on a Domain or is this a Standalone machine? Where are the Group Policies coming from? Have you imported any Policies via Templates?

What was the last thing you installed before you started getting these errors? Try uninstalling it (was it IE7?). See if the errors go away. Re-install, but during the install disable all security type programs, including anti virus software.

What happens if you logon as another user from Normal Mode?

See if System Restore will get you back to a restore point before your problem with Explorer.

Try Safe Mode (Do you have this problem in Safe Mode?). There will be some other errors in the Event Viewer as Safe Mode does not load everything and this upsets the Event Viewer.

Try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors. Right-click your Drive icon/ Properties/ Tools/ Error Checking. Select both boxes.

Run the System File Checker program from the Run Box by typing.....Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy.

If they don't work you could try repairing windows by running it over itself. You will lose all your windows updates but your files will be untouched.

Try as follows:
-Installed and run UPHClean – no changes in Event Viewer
-Created new User Account (as Administrator)-no change in Normal mode
-Boot in Safe Mode and with my old User Account got Windows Search Service Error ID: 3102.With new created User Account-no Errors in EV-Application foundAfter return and boot in Normal Mode ,both errors appears in old Account as well as with new created Account.
Now I have problem how to delete new created Account..There is no “Delete” option. I can delete my old Account but I like to keep it and delete this new created.
-Run Sfc /Scannow – all O.K.
-Run ChkDsk
-Verified Unsigned Device Drivers in Windows XP-Found few Unsigned Drivers only.
Seems that remains only last solution to reinstall Windows, but I am not secure whether those two errors – their repears are worth of all this efforts.

To delete a user profile.

When I had dial-up I use to save all my updates for such occasions, now with faster downloads it is not really a problem, unless you have limited mb's of download size.

You could just go for Vista and then you wouldn't have heaps of downloads.

Did your image fix up your original problem, whatever that was?

Image restore didn,t fix original problems.Probably they are older then data when image was created.
My machine is not so powefull, and I don't know how will support Vista.
Regarding my original problems - EV errors, found GPMC tool but for SP1 and with NET.Framework to be installed prior of GP Console ( can not find which version , 1.1 or 2.0 of NET.Framework).On my machine I haven't yet installed this apps.
What's your opinion about this- beware of things which can create more serious problems and specially can slow down my PC.

If you want you can install both 1.1 and 2.0 they are slightly different in which applications they support and not fully backward compatible. I have both versions installed, as do, I imagine, most people who require .Net. No problems, and I never see or hear too much about it from Windows, it just runs silently in the background.

This will explain it a bit better.
