how can I silence a ring, *35 doesn't seem to work?

Use centralized programming. When you enter the extention number, press any line button (lit button), press feature, scroll to RingOptions, press all lines, press no ring, press enter - then exit out.

Well, what is ringing?
Is it a line or an intercom or a COVER BUTTON?
On the 18D itself, determine which button is ringing.
Then press intercom, speaker, # 00 (Pound Zero Zero) and then touch the button that's ringing.
That will tell you what it is, and *35 should kill it.
