I'm trying to install XP Home on a new HP Athlon 64X2, in a dual-boot configuration with the Vista OS that came with it. Got the disk partitioned and XP installed fine, but XP driver won't work with the integrated nvidia nForce 430 network controller. Does anyone know where I can find an XP-compatible driver for this device?

Thanks, Tony. This looks very hopeful. However, I get a blank page on the URL you sent me. I like to try again. Also, I can't back in to the Vista device manager just yet. Installing XP corrupted the boot file, and I have to get on the web before I can fix it.

One of the most useful tools in my emergency kit is a Linksys USB100TX USB-to-RJ45 adapter. They are about $10 on eBay. You have to be able to connect!

I double-checked that URL in IE & Firefox, it's good, try copy/paste.

Good input on the Linksys adapter, Tony. I have a Dynex router that's support to share the Internet connection with the old computer I'm using right now. Will the Linksys adapter work with that?

I still can't get the URL you sent, even using copy/paste. IE6 gives me a blank page, and Firefox gives me a bunch of DOS text I don't understand. Could you tell me how you got to this page from within nvidia's website?

Do a Google search for:

nforce 430 xp driver

it's the first hit...

Bingo! I got through and downloaded it to a CD. Now I'll try to get XP to accept it (No luck on first try).

Thanks, Tony
