I have an older Ethernet III card that I have put in my machine which has Win 2K Pro installed. the card has been working fine in my other machine which has Win 98 installed. The new machine does not detect the card at all. Is there any settting I need to look at to ensure the card is seen. many thanks

Hi
If the card is not pnp then it will be very hard for W2k to recognise it.
Try manual installation.

Try running the hardware wizard in the control panel. Ma5 is right, if this card isn't pnp, then Win2k won't detect it automatically, but the hardware wizard will spot it. The driver to use for this ethernet card is another issue, and hopefully win2k has the right one built into it.

Try going to the card manufacturer's web site, see if there is a Win2K driver for the card. If there isn't consider scrapping it and buying a new card - they're not expensive, especially considering the value of your time!

You should also consider, finding out if the card is compatible with win2000.
