Does anyone have a recommendation as to what device would be best suited to boost a ethernet signal to 610'? I have a sheilded 610' run from a Cisco switch to my PBX, I am going to need to put something in the middle somewhere and was hoping to purchase a simple signal booster for this that would be inexpensive, and suggestions would be helful. Thanks!

You could use fiber optic cable with media converters that use fiber optic cable for the whole distance, then change to ethernet at the end points.... Otherwise you could put a hub right in the middle of the run. :)

The hub solution would be rather cheasy though. ;-(

Yeah, the fiber thought was just that ....a thought. It would be to expensive to run fiber and then have to change out the switches to fiber. So a small hub would do the job?

Yep... Either a hub or switch... You would probably want a switch so the link will be full duplex... Any crappy linksys 5 port switch will do. :)

Seriously would think about fiber though, since it would be a more reliable connection and could be upgraded to gigabit with ease. Fiber cable isn't expensive anymore, if you were to run the cable in house and just pay for a company to terminate it, it wouldn't cost much at all.... Probably ~300 - 400 bucks.
