I just recently formatted and carried out a clean install of Vista on a used Dell Inspiron 530 desktop. It seems to work great for the most part (running a Q6600 CPU), but a couple of things seem quirky to me just last night. This computer is at our church, so I don't have web access for it unless I take it back to my house for some maintenance.
Anyhow, here is the deal:
I don't recall it happening during the morning service, so I'm not really sure what would cause it.
When connecting a 1TB Acomdata externa eSata hard drive, once connected, it caused the keyboard and mouse to stop working. Then once I disconnected and reconnected the keyboard and mouse, all was fine.
Another oddity just last night was that my Corsair Flash Voyager 8GB thumb drive couldn't be scanned, or hardly even recognized. It's possible that it's the drive, though, as an older 2GB version worked fine. I'll verify that this evening, hopefully, by connecting it again at home.s
Any thoughts/ideas on what could cause a conflict between an eSata port and the keyboard/mouse? I had changed a couple of drive mappings before that (optical drives). I'll see if I get the same results next time after the system has been restarted.
