Recently I updated the ERS 3510GT switch to the following versions:
FW: 5.3.0.10 SW: v5.3.15.003. After that, it booted normally, but upon restarting,
the configured stack IP stopped responding to ping. To recover management access,
I decided to change the management VLAN interface IP, and that allowed me to regain
web browser access. However, the two VLANs previously configured on the device stopped
communicating with each other – devices on different segments couldn't reach each other.
Later, I reverted to the original IP configuration, but lost web management again.
When I tried to reconfigure the temporary IP that had restored access previously,
I couldn't set it and remained locked out of switch management.
I tested with another smaller 8-port 3510GT switch: after updating and rebooting,
it exhibited exactly the same behavior – I lost web management. While the switch responds
to local console access, I can't ping a PC connected directly to it. Clearly, some configuration
was lost during the update that I haven't been able to recover.
