We have a database that is shared by 5 users.  We found a record on a form that had "#Error" in a field rather than the data that had previously been keyed in.  When the field was click on with the mouse, we got a message that said "The Microsoft Jet Database engine stopped the process because you and another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time."  We all exited the database (and Access completely) and ONLY ONE of us re-opened the database and went to the record on the form, with the same result.  After this message appeared, trying to open any other objects in the database resulted in an "Out of Memory" error message.  Any thoughts on why this may have occurred?

I have no idea why it happens, but have seen it many times. Somehow, that record got corrupted. The only thing you can do at this point is to highlight the record and print it (make sure you size all the columns to read all the information). After you have printed the record (File ¦ Print ¦Select &quot;Selected Records&quot;), then delete the record, and re-enter it from your print out.<br><br>We ran into this several times, and this was the only solution we could come up with. <p>Jim Lunde<br><a href=mailto:compugeeks@hotmail.com>compugeeks@hotmail.com</a><br><a href= Application Development

I had this problem a couple of times.

The only way I know is to compact/repair the database. For my case it created a &quot;db1.mdb&quot; and I have to rename it to the file name that I want. Then I change the #### that have appeared in the corrupted record to the data I want.

I agree--the record got corrupted. if it is because two people were editing it at the same time....go into your form design and change Record Locks to EDITED RECORD. then if someone is editing a record that someone else is in, they will get some message about it and have to wait.
